One of the ways we celebrated Reading Month in March was Flashlight Reading. The Baby Bruins enjoyed this special opportunity. They connected with some great books with the help of their flashlights!

These Baby Bruins were rewarded for showing good character by a staff member this month with a special bookmark. That bookmark is a ticket for a trip to the Book Vending Machine. Good job!

This creative group of 2nd Grade Baby Bruins created the artwork for our 1st Grade Music Program this week. Their artwork shows the theme of the performance "How Bedtime Can Be a BLAST!" Excellent job

WBP would like to thank the @grassfield_hs Step Team for an amazing demonstration and performance today. Way to go! https://youtu.be/Qq3pGwdngPQ

Pre-School students went to Bluebird Gap Farm this week. They learned about animals in their habitats and how they live and move. Way to grow Baby Bruins!

We wished our Bruin Chicks well today as they are beginning a new adventure on the farm. We know they will make us proud!

The leprechaun finally found out who was after his Lucky Charms this week! In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, our kindergarten students got into some tasty shenanigans! They sorted the marshmallows by color and graphed their results. Good work!

In March, we celebrate Fine and Performance Arts Month. Our 2nd grade students created this mural to celebrate on the front office windows. What a great display of their creativity and imagination! #WeAreBruins #CPSCelebrates

The WBP chickens are growing! We have enjoyed learning about animal life cycles, animal needs, and habitats as the chickens have moved into larger habitats in the hallway! Today about half of our chickens will be promoted to the farm! We are going to continue to see the remaining chickens grow for another week before they reunite at their permanent home on the farm.

This week we learned how archeologists help us learn about the Jamestown Settlement through digging. Students completed an archeological lesson with cookies! YUM! They recorded how many chips in each of their cookie "dig sites." And, they had a sweet time!

Western Branch Primary was pleased to welcome readers from NAS Hampton Roads this morning to read to our kindergarten students. They joined us in celebration of Reading Month. Our Baby Bruins had a blast celebrating a love of literacy with our special guests! #CPSCelebrates #nationalreadingmonth

The Baby Bruins have an attendance goal of 95% daily. We reached our goal last week and earned a special schoolwide "Snow Day" incentive. #attendancematters https://youtube.com/shorts/tskN19HBwsE?feature=share
