Portlock Primary has decided to hold a Read-a-thon this year!
Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-a-thon starts Monday March 4, 2024.
About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323331383039/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates!

🎉 Join us in saluting the service of over 800 school board members in Virginia for School Board Appreciation Month! The 2024 theme — The Heart of Education: Our School Board — acknowledges that the school board is at the heart of the education system, guiding it with kindness and care. The month-long observance is an opportunity to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards assume in a constitutional republic. School boards voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing public school divisions, while preserving the core of our democratic values. #CPSCelebrates

Tuesday is the 90th Day of School! Help us to celebrate the halfway point of the year by dressing up 90s.
