Our Chesapeake Virtual Academy (CVA) is proud to offer fully online courses to students enrolled in Chesapeake Public Schools. Serving students in grades K-12, CVA offers a wide range of core and elective classes, including Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, and provides special education services for students with disabilities, gifted enrichment opportunities, and services for English language learners.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 school year. Students remain connected to their home schools and may participate in all sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Teams from Deep Creek Elementary, Jolliff Middle, Hugo Owens Middle, Oscar Smith Middle, and Deep Creek Middle competed against other teams across the state!
🏆 Congratulations to Deep Creek Middle’s, The Final Formers Team, who won the Excellence Award, and The Robotic MegaMustangs team from Hugo A. Owens for winning the Teamwork Champion Award and the Judges Award! Both teams earned a place at the state championship in Doswell, VA on March 2, 2024. Way to go to all the teams who participated and competed! 🎉
🌟 Special thanks to Deep Creek Middle’s Teacher of the Year, Melodie Surratt for organizing the fantastic event! We also would like to extend a huge thank you to UUVRON-1 Detachment Little Creek for their IVER3 and BlueROV robotics display, and the Chief Petty Officer Association from Commander, Navy Reserve Center Norfolk who volunteered their time to judge and help make the event a success!
