The Luke Bryan concert has been rescheduled. Our school will continue to operate on a virtual learning schedule as planned for Friday, September 20, 2024.
Chesapeake Public Schools is committed to the safety and security of our students and staff. In response to recently updated information regarding the anticipated community impact of the Luke Bryan concert scheduled on Friday, September 20, 2024 in Heritage Park, Hickory Middle will experience a change to their school day.
Hickory Middle will switch to synchronous virtual learning on Friday, September 20, 2024. As a result, students do not report to school for virtual learning, and there will be no after school activities.

In addition to Hickory Middle, three other schools in our district will experience changes to the school day on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Hickory Elementary
Hickory Elementary will operate on an early release schedule on Friday, September 20, 2024. Students and staff will be released at 1:00 PM and there will be no after school activities. Despite the early release, school breakfast and lunch will be served, and all fifth-grade students will attend the Oceana Air Show, as scheduled. Please note, afternoon bus transportation could be delayed due to anticipated traffic.
Southeastern Elementary
Southeastern Elementary will operate on an early release schedule on Friday, September 20, 2024. Students and staff will be released at 1:00 PM and there will be no after school activities. Despite the early release, school breakfast and lunch will be served, and all fifth-grade students will attend the Oceana Air Show, as scheduled.
