Preschool & Kindergarten Four-Card System

For safety reasons, Parents/guardians receiving a preschool or kindergarten student off the bus, must have a card that matches the student's card. Bus drivers are not permitted to release students off the bus without this card being shown to them. These cards are included in the welcome letter.

Parent Pick-Up and Drop-Off

We are keeping the same parent pick-up and drop-off as this past year. All students will be issued a number for the car and their backpack. If you are going to pick up your child at 2:04, every day or occasionally, you will need to have your family number visible on your dashboard. We will not release children without this verification. If you are driving your child to school, please have him/her here by 7:35 AM. There is a drop-off point in the front of the building. The earliest any student can come into the building is 7:00 AM. As always, a smooth start to a day will enhance the rest of the day, please help us to have optimum academic time by getting your child to school on time. On the same note, we will continue with academics until our 2:04 PM dismissal.

Parent Drop-Off

1. Allow plenty of time

2. Enter only through the front of the building and follow the circle around to the stop sign.

3. Stay in single file to the right next to the sidewalk.

4. Have your children exit your car on the passenger side next to the sidewalk.

5. Do not pass a car that has stopped in front of you. Let the staff manage traffic flow.

6. If your child needs assistance getting out of the car, please wait in line and pull up in front of the stop sign or to the very left of the curb.

Parent Pick-Up

(Dashboard cards will be distributed during Open House)

1. Parents begin lining up in their vehicles in the front of the school at 1:50 pm. Parents must remain in their vehicle and have their Family ID visor card clearly displayed.

2. One or more staff members will be on the bus ramp to enter the Family’s ID’s for the incoming vehicles.

3. Cars will be directed to line up in double lanes. For the safety of everyone, please drive slowly and follow the directions of the staff. (There is white dividing lines and walk-ways painted on the front loop.)

4. Once the first group of students are safely loaded, vehicles will be dismissed 6 at a time by staff. The next ten cars will be directed to pull up until all students are safely dismissed.

*Please complete this Transportation Survey for each student you have registered at GRP.
