🎉On Saturday, April 27th our unarmed regulation, armed regulation, and inspection teams competed in the state drill meet at Atlee High School. This was our first time competing at the state level in 5 years. Excited to announce that our Armed Drill Team under the command of Cadet Liam Long, finished 3rd overall. (A total of 19 teams across the state competed).
🎉Additionally, our cadets placed 2nd (Cadet Olivia Rees) and 3rd (Cadet Levi Martz) in the basic knockout competition and 2nd (Cadet Lukas Beaudoin) in the advanced knockout competition. (Both the Basic & Advanced competitions start out with approximately 100 cadets from across the state).
💪Extremely proud of all the hard work the cadets put in this year!

On Saturday, Indian River High School hosted Operation Military Families! Operation Military Families allowed for our district's military families to participate in information sessions and fun activities for students.
Throughout the evening, families were able to get complimentary family portraits taken by Lifetouch, enjoy performances by the U.S. Fleet Forces Band Woodwind Quartet, eat a pizza dinner and learn about resources offered to military families in our area.
Special thanks to Captain Matt Frauenzimmer for taking the time to speak to our families and the Office of Family and Community Engagement for continuing their commitment to serving our community.

Today, our Physics students took learning to new heights with a thrilling field trip to Busch Gardens! 🎢🌟 Exploring the physics behind roller coasters and rides was an adventure like no other. From G-forces to kinetic energy, every twist and turn taught us something new! #PhysicsAdventures #BuschGardens #LearningIsFun

Deep Creek High, Grassfield High, Hickory High, and Western Branch High were also recognized with the VSCA State Achievement Award.
In addition, Western Branch High received the VSCA Outstanding Service Project Award and had two students, Jayla Washington and Amari Sykes, elected to state VSCA officer positions.
