Join us this November in celebrating Native American Heritage Month, or as it is also referred to, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month.
This month is a time to celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. It is also an opportunity to learn about tribes and their cultures, and to raise awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced and how they have worked to conquer these challenges. #CPSCelebrates

CCSS is taking a BITE of of cancer. Staff wore pink to raise awareness of this deadly disease. In addition, we participated in the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation's annual Bra-Ha-Ha. Our bra was based on the Broadway play Wicked, & our theme was "No One Mourns the Wicked".

CCSS students participated in the Worlds of Work yesterday. This program exposes students to career opportunities in technical fields & higher education programs. The students learned a lot about the different types of jobs available to them after they graduate from high school.

Students will come home today with their Impact Aid Survey card. The Federal Impact Aid Program provides funding directly to school divisions to compensate for lost real estate revenues due to an increased amount of federal property in their districts. Impact Aid funds support all of our students and programs across the district. We ask all families to sign and return their completed cards tomorrow. Federal Impact Aid generates close to $3 million for our schools each year! Help make an impact by returning your completed card.
