Chesapeake Public Schools convenes multiple advisory committees to focus on data, analyze problems, and make recommendations to the Superintendent and School Board. Citizens interested in serving on one of our advisory committees must meet the criteria outlined in School Board regulations and submit an application.
Participation is contingent upon selection by each committee. Selection criteria are based on requirements by state or federal guidelines and the work of the committee.
Application and Selection Information
This year, the advisory committee application window opens April 16, 2025. Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2025.
We encourage all interested applicants to use the online Citizen Advisory Committee application. This method allows for immediate submission and ensures all necessary information is captured accurately.
For those who may require it, a paper version of the application is available. Please note, however, that all paper applications must be delivered to the Director of Planning, Policy & Research at the School Administration Building (SAB) by 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 1st.
Citizens selected to serve will be notified to confirm willingness/availability prior to the June School Board meeting where citizen members will be announced
Applicants not selected for appointment will be notified after the June School Board meeting
