Crestwood Intermediate & B.M. Williams Primary Rezoning

Updated February 3, 2025

In alignment with our Capital Improvement Plan, Crestwood Intermediate and B. M. Williams Primary Schools will convert to a K-5 elementary school model beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. To accommodate this change, new attendance zones must be established for B. M. Williams Elementary School and Crestwood Elementary School.

The school administration presented a Proposed Plan for the Establishment of New Attendance Zones for Crestwood Elementary School and B. M. Williams Elementary School to the School Board on December 9, 2024. Updates were provided to the School Board on January 13, 2025, during the first public hearing and work session. At the request of the School Board, an additional update including a fourth rezoning option was presented at the January 30, 2025, School Board meeting

The proposal outlines four attendance zone options for School Board consideration.

Key Considerations for Rezoning

  • Capacity: We are carefully considering the capacity of both schools to accommodate the new enrollment.

  • Geographic Boundaries: We will strive to create attendance zones that are geographically logical and minimize travel distances.

  • Residential Development: We are taking into account current and future residential development in the area.

  • Student Proximity: We are prioritizing the placement of students in schools closest to their homes.

  • Educational Programs: We will ensure that both schools offer a comprehensive curriculum and support services.

Proposed Three Attendance Zone Options

Please view the full presentation to our School Board on December 9, 2024, for more information on the three attendance zone options.

Public Input Opportunities

The School Board will hold several public hearings and work sessions to discuss the proposed attendance zone realignment. Please attend one of the following meetings to share your feedback:

🆕In addition, families living in the affected zones have the opportunity to complete a survey to share their feedback on the revised plan that includes an additional option for attendance zones. The deadline to complete the survey is February 18, 2025.

If approved by the School Board, the new attendance zones will take effect in September 2025.
