Kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year is now open! All primary and elementary schools within Chesapeake Public Schools offer full day kindergarten programs! The 2024-2025 school year starts on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, but it is not too early to register your child for kindergarten! Enrolling early helps us prepare to welcome your child on the first day of school!
Kindergarten Enrollment Requirements
Please review our eligibility requirements to ensure that your child is ready to join the Class of 2037!
You must be a current resident in Chesapeake.
Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 30 of their kindergarten year.*
Parent/guardian must present all enrollment documentation. Visit our Student Enrollment page to review required documentation for kindergarten enrollment.
*If your child does not meet the age requirement, they may be eligible for one of our early learning opportunities. Learn more about our preschool opportunities here.
