Medical Health Centers

The two medical Health Centers are operated by Marathon Health, one of the nation’s leading providers of onsite and near-site healthcare. They offer convenient and free healthcare services to employees and retirees covered by a Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) health plan.  The care Marathon Health will provide focuses on wellness and prevention and helping people become active in their own health.

In addition to the acute care that you can receive for common illnesses and injuries, Marathon Health also offers health assessments and coaching to address lifestyle health risks such as stress, unhealthy eating, inadequate sleep, and physical inactivity. Coaching for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart problems, or high blood pressure will also be offered along with group health education programs to help participants achieve personal wellness goals.

All care received from Marathon Health is completely confidential. The rules that protect the privacy of your health information at your local medical office also protect your health information at a Marathon Health practice. Who can use the Health Centers?
Employees and retirees on the CPS health plan will be able to use the Health Centers for primary and preventive care. Spouses and dependents age 6+ on the CPS health plan will be eligible to use the Health Centers for health coaching services after they have completed a health risk assessment questionnaire and biometric screening.
