A National School to Watch

Western Branch Middle School was recognized by The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. Through its Schools to Watch® (STW) program, the Forum has developed the following criteria for identifying high-performing middle-grades schools:  High-performing middle schools are academically excellent; High-performing middle schools are developmentally responsive to the unique needs of the middle school-aged student; High-performing middle schools are socially equitable; and High-performing middle schools incorporate organizational structures.

Western Branch Middle is very honored to have been designated in 2018 as a National School to Watch.  This designation must be renewed every three years to show continuous growth in the four areas.

NATSTUCO Award

Way to go WBMS SCA with continuing to achieve high goals.  WBMS SCA has now brought our students and school to a national recognition level.  Thank you to all our students and the SCA advisor, Ms. Amy Daniel! Earning the National Student Council award was no small task and your students’ success is a testament to the leadership and support you give to them.  WBMS SCA was thrilled to have earned the NatStuCo award.  The NatStuCo bestows this honor on student councils for implementing a strong leadership program that meets council goals; functioning in an ethical and responsible way; and engaging others in leadership, spirit, civic, and service activities.
