CPS Text Notifications

Chesapeake Public Schools has a service for parents to enhance communications by delivering important information via SMS test messaging, such as delayed school openings or  emergency closing due to weather. This service is intended to enhance our existing means of communication and will not replace any existing form communication.

To participate in this service, you must register your mobile phone number. Registration is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete.

• To Register: Text subscribe, opt-in, or yes to 68453.
• To Unregister: Test STOP to 68453
• For Help: Text HELP to 68453

While Chesapeake Public Schools does not charge a fee for this service, standard text and data charges may apply. CPS is not responsible for any charges from a person’s service provider that may result from the provision of this service. Please check with your individual carrier regarding any charges which may apply.

In addition to registering your mobile phone as indicated above, please be sure that Chesapeake Public Schools has your wireless number in our student information database. On your child’s blue card, you will need to put your wireless number in the text message number section.
