Amy Legg, Counseling Director

Mrs. Amy Legg is a native of Suffolk, Virginia and a graduate of Nansemond River High School. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech (“GO HOKIES!!”)  and a M.S.Ed. in School Counseling from Old Dominion University.  Amy served as a School Counselor at Western Branch High School for 15 years before becoming Counseling Director.  She and her family proudly reside in the Western Branch area and she is the proud mom of two Bruins!  She enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, and their dog Maggie in the Outer Banks.

Millicent Lee, School Counselor (A-Cl)

Dr. Millicent Lee, the youngest of four siblings, was born and raised in Petersburg, Va. where she matriculated from Petersburg High School to Old Dominion University majoring in Human Services Counseling. She continued on to University of Phoenix where she received her M.B.A. in Marketing and worked in corporate America for ten years before returning to education. She received her second Masters from Cambridge College in school counseling.  Millicent continued on in education to earn her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies and completed her Doctorate at Regent University in School Leadership. Millicent has worked in the Chesapeake Public School district for the past 12 years. She is dual licensed in K-12 school counseling, as well as, school administration and leadership and owns her own Graphic Designs business. She has a heart to work with students because she believes their potential is limitless.  She expresses daily that “Someday she will change the world one student at a time”.  In her past times she loves spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews, dancing wildly at home, cheering for the best football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and creating new recipes.

Dianna D. Ransom, School Counselor (Co-Go)

Ms. Dianna D. Ransom is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia and a proud product of Western Branch High School. She earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University and a M.S. in School Counseling from Cambridge College. Dianna has 22 years of experience and has worked as a substitute teacher, teacher and school counselor in Portsmouth, Prince George’s County, and DC Public schools prior to joining Chesapeake Public Schools in 2002. Dianna is the proud mom of one Bruin.! Dianna enjoys watching her son play soccer and spending time with her family. One of her favorite quotes, “Be the Change you wish to SEE in the WORLD”

Anita Vega, School Counselor (Gr-Ke)

Mrs. Anita Vega is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia and a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School.  She earned a B.S. in Business Education from Norfolk State University in 1994 a Master’s in Secondary Education from Regent University and a Master’s in School Counseling from Liberty University.  Mrs. Vega previously served as a Career and Technical Education Teacher from 1994 – 2017 at Western Branch Middle, Jolliff Middle, and Western Branch High Schools.  This is her fourth year as a school counselor at Western Branch High School and oversees Homebound Instruction and is a co-sponsor of the Student-2-Student (S2S) organization.  Mrs. Vega has three adult children and a husband of 32 years.  She loves the Dallas Cowboys, Mama Chan’s yock, the beach and many other outdoor activities.

Kim Thomas, School Counselor (Ki-N)

Mrs. Kim M. Thomas is a native of Washington, D.C. and a proud product of Virginia Beach City Public Schools (Tallwood High School). She earned her B.S. in Business Management and M.A. in Urban Education Professional School Counseling Pre-K – 12 at the illustrious Norfolk State University (“Behold the Green and Gold!”).  She has served in education for over 20 years, as an early childhood educator, substitute, guidance registrar, and currently as a professional school counselor (since 2012).  Mrs. Thomas and her family have resided in the Western Branch area since 2004.  She loves spending time with her family, attending church, volunteering, and attending games/school activities (supporting students). In fact, you have probably seen Mrs. Thomas over the years at WBHS because she has volunteered for several Bruin Family activities.  Her husband (Coach Thomas) and three children (C.J., E-man, and Kiara) are all proud WBHS alumnus. And now, she is officially a BRUIN, serving our Bruins as a School Counselor! She wants to help R.A.I.S.E. the BRUIN NATION!!!

Teri Wilson, Career Counselor (O-So)

Ms. Teri Wilson is originally from Solomons, Maryland, but she and her family now call Virginia Beach their home. She earned an M.S. in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, an M.S. in Psychology from California Coast University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. Ms. Wilson has 13 years of experience in education and worked as an English teacher for 5 years before becoming a School Counselor in 2011. She also spent a few years working as an addiction counselor in a jail substance abuse program in Maryland. Ms. Wilson’s oldest daughter recently moved to Texas to attend Baylor University for nursing, and her youngest daughter is an 11th grader at Cox High School. This is Ms. Wilson’s first year working at Western Branch High School, and she is looking forward to being a Bruin.

Eve Bell, School Counselor (Sp-Z)

Ms. Eve Bell originally is from and grew up in Wilmington (Carolina Beach), North Carolina. She earned a BA in Psychology and Political Science from Univ of San Diego and St. Leo University.

She then earned a M.S.Ed. in School Counseling from Old Dominion University. She has over 30 years experience in educational counseling, taught Psychology and Counseling courses at St. Leo University  courses for 7 years and has been with WBHS now for 22 years! She is a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ms. Bell has a lovely daughter who is a senior at The University of Alabama ROLL TIDE! In her free time she loves to spend time with friends and family playing cards, corn hole, biking, boating, swimming and playing with her many dogs and cats down at her family home in Carolina. She also loves pizza, milkshakes, flavored coffees and traveling.
