SOL Testing Schedule

WBHS SOL Testing Adjusted Schedule: January 13, 14, 20, and 21

No changes to bus schedule (AM or PM)

Students report IMMEDIATELY to testing location or auditorium.

CCC and GSA Students will follow their regular schedules. CCC and GSA students not involved in an SOL Boot Camp or taking an SOL should be present for their full CCC or GSA session.

AM CCC students who do not drive report to CCC via bus, shuttle back to their high schools at the conclusion of the session, will be housed in the auditorium for virtual blocks 1 and 2 (because they have CCC for those blocks), and then attend blocks 3 and 4 in person.

AM CCC students who drive report to CCC and then may go home to login for their virtual blocks 3 and 4.

PM CCC students who do not drive report to their high schools in the morning on their regular bus route and will be housed in the auditorium in the morning until they catch the CCC PM shuttle. They will ride the regular shuttle bus back to their home high school at the conclusion of the session.

PM CCC students who drive will remain home for the morning and will report to CCC at the beginning of the CCC PM session.

All PM CCC students will be excused from participating in their virtual blocks 1 and 2 since they will be in class at CCC. Students are responsible for any missing assignments for blocks 1 and 2.

GSA students will also be excused from participating in virtual blocks since they will be in class at GSA. GSA students are responsible for any missing assignments posted for blocks 1, 2, or 3.

SOL Bootcamp Schedule

History Boot Camps will be provided in person, after school, from 4:00-5:00pm according to the schedule below. As a reminder, students will need to provide their own transportation home from after school Boot Camps or SOL prep sessions.

COVID-19 Procedures

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this challenging time.  We appreciate your participation as we diligently follow the current guidelines that were created in response to the Center for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health’s most recent guidance.

If students are experiencing symptoms associated with Covid-19 or being evaluated for Covid-19, please keep them and all unvaccinated siblings home until further instruction is provided.

Please do not send your student back to campus until you have been provided further guidance for your student’s return to campus.

Please provide information here, WBHS Covid-19 Data Collection Form , regarding:

  • Student’s exposure to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19
  • Student’s personal Covid-19 (positive) test results
  • Student’s return to school after isolation or quarantine as a result of Covid-19

After completion of the form above, you are encouraged and welcomed to notify your student’s teachers that you have reached out to the nurse for guidance so that they may allow your student access to additional instruction through Schoology.

CCC Information & Application

Applications for the Chesapeake Career Center for the 2022-2023 school year will open the evening of January 13th and will close on February 25th.

10th and 11th grade students who are interested in taking courses for the 2022-2023 school year should complete the online application before February 25th. To learn more about program opportunities, students and parents can view the CCC video.

The Chesapeake Career Center will hold its Open House Event on January 13th from 5:00-7:30. Students must register to attend the open house.

Students should see Ms. Wilson in Guidance with any questions.

Important Senior Info

If you still need to order any graduation regalia (cap and gown, announcements, etc.), please go directly to Jostens.  If you have questions (even regarding a class ring order),  or if you need to reach a Josten’s service representative, the number is 1-800 567-8367. Please try to get your graduation items order as soon as possible to guarantee all items are ready in time.

Summer Residential Govenor School

Are you a Sophomore or Junior who is interested in the fields of Agriculture, Humanities, Mathematics, Science & Technology, Medicine & Health Sciences, Marine Science, or Engineering.  Then the Summer Residential Governor’s school may be the place for you.  Students who apply and are accepted to a program will be given the opportunity from June 26th-July 23rd to participate in an academic program on a college campus. For more information on the Summer Residential Governor’s School (SRGS) programs please see Ms. Lee in guidance for any questions, requirements, or for the application as soon as possible in order to meet the deadline.

WIN Tutoring

This is just a quick reminder of our after school WIN tutoring program. This is a great opportunity to get extra help in a small group setting.  As we get close to the end of the semester, please take advantage of these tutoring and review opportunities. View the schedule.

If your student has not signed up for the senior remind, please encourage them to do so. Seniors can text the following codes to 81010 to sign up:

Oct. 1: Homecoming parade and game.
Oct. 20th: LAST day to take Senior Portraits. Sign up for a time here.
Nov. 5: LAST day to submit your senior portrait from an outside vendor.
Nov. 15-24: Seniors can come by F6 to check their picture and name as it will appear in the yearbook.
Jan. 7: Last day to order a senior ad for the yearbook.

Student Online Verification

Schoology_logoAt the beginning of every school year, all families must complete the student online verification process. Families must log onto their ParentVUE account to verify their student’s information. The verification process allows our families to confirm or update information for all children in a household at one time.  For more information, please visit the CPS Student Online Verification Process webpage.

Families will also have the opportunity to review and update their contact information to ensure continued access to important information and communications from their student’s school and the district.

The deadline for the student verification process is Thursday, September 30, 2021. To complete the process, please log onto your ParentVUE account. The verification process can be completed in ParentVue on web browser or in the ParentVUE mobile app. Once logged in, select ONLINE REGISTRATION & VERIFICATION and follow the prompts to verify your student’s information.

Student Schedules

Student Schedules for the 2021-2022 School year will be viewable on ParentVUE and StudentVUE starting at 4:00 pm on August 27th.  As a reminder, student passwords were reset over the summer.  Student’s usernames are still their student ID number.  Students keep the same Student ID number they had last school year- including rising 9th graders who were in Middle School last year.
Any newly enrolled student who does not know their Student ID number should contact the Guidance Office at 638-7908.
Students should use the following to log in:
  • Username = Student ID #

  • Password = First letter of first name + First letter of last name + last 4 digits of Student ID (Example: gb1234)

To request a schedule change, please use this Schedule Change Form.  This form can be printed, filled out, and dropped off in the WBHS Main Office or it can be completed electronically and emailed to the student’s assigned counselor (based on students’ last names).
Schedule changes will ONLY be made under the following circumstances and can ONLY be made during the first 5 days of each semester.
1. You have an incomplete schedule.
2. You failed a course that must be repeated.
3. You failed a course and you are retaking the course with the same teacher.
4. You previously passed a course and are scheduled in the course again.
5. You are a Senior who needs a course (not scheduled) to graduate.

Parent Notifications in Schoology

If any families are concerned that their students are missing assignments, they can set their notifications so that they are alerted when assignments are missing. You can provide them these steps.

  • Log onto your Schoology Parent Account.
  • Click on “Account Settings.”
  • Select “Notifications.”
  • Select “YES”next to “Course Materials Overdue” for email or phone.
  • Click “Save Changes.”
