Seniors don’t forget to check Scholarship Vue…there are many scholarships to apply for and NONE have been cancelled due to commonwealth wide stay at home order.
The PTSA also will be awarding three selected students to receive a $1000 scholarship for use toward tuition. To be eligible for this non-renewable scholarship towards tuition, students must be a full time senior in good standing, with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and enrolled at WBHS. If you are a student or parent and a member of the WBHS PTSA, check out the requirements and applications at their website. The application can also be found on the CPS ScholarshipVUE.
Additionally – Chittum PTA and Jolliff PTA scholarships are also due April 4. The Southwestern Elementary PTA scholarship is due April 22.
Due to the school closure, applications must be submitted via email to Ms. Anna VanLaethem in the guidance department no later than the due dates listed above or in the ScholarshipVUE app or if you have any questions about scholarships.
Parents who have an urgent need to collect their child’s essential personal belongings from the school may do so by appointment only. For safety reasons, only essential personal belongings may be collected at this time. Essential Personal Belongings May Include:
All visitors will be required to show identification. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED WITHOUT AN ADULT.
All WBH teachers will be offering “office hours” so students and parents can reach out to each with questions they may have concerning the learning activities and lessons. The ASVAB test scheduled for April 22nd at WBHS has been canceled due to COVID-19. At this time there are no exceptions and no rescheduling will take place at this time.

We are pleased to announce the rebirth of our school newsletter! Mrs. Emerson’s Journalism I students have produced a new, electronic, student-generated newsletter, The Bruin Bulletin. Kudos to Mrs. Emerson and her student writer/editors!
Western Branch High School offers a number of different ways for students to make up or gain extra instruction. From our When Instruction Happens (WIN) program to Extended Days to Tutoring Opportunities, we try to do all we can for our Bruins.
