The Mount Global Donates $30,000 to Chesapeake Public Schools’ Preschool Initiative

On August 17, 2020, Bishop Kim Brown and The Mount Global surprised Chesapeake Public Schools with a donation of $30,000.The Mount Church presents a ceremonial check to CPS

The funds are earmarked for the purchase of 360 tablets for students enrolled in the district’s Preschool Initiative. With fall classes resuming virtually, it has never been more important for all students to have access to necessary technology.

Members of the Mount church present a check to CPSThe Preschool Initiative at seven elementary and primary schools will receive the tablets: Camelot Elementary, Georgetown Primary, Thurgood Marshall Elementary, Southwestern Elementary, Western Branch Primary, B. M. Williams Primary, and Rena B. Wright Primary.

Mrs. Jacqueline Tate, Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning, thanked the church and community for meeting a crucial need, and Superintendent Dr. Jared Cotton, expressed his appreciation for such generosity to Chesapeake students.
