ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND
As part of the American Rescue Plan Act, Chesapeake Public Schools will receive $51,097,732.26 through Virginia’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III (ESSER) award. At least 20% of these funds must address learning loss through the implementation of evidence-based interventions that respond to students’ social, emotional, and academic needs, particularly those in underrepresented groups. Funds may also be utilized to implement strategies that support a safe return to in-person learning.
All stakeholders are invited to complete this brief survey to share their feedback on how these funds should be allocated to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on student learning and well-being. This survey will remain open from June 15-30, 2021. Email addresses are being collected for record keeping purposes.
