Chesapeake Preschool Initiative (CPI)

What is CPI?

CPI is a FREE full-day program for children who will be four years old by September 30th and who live in Chesapeake.

The program is designed to give eligible children opportunities to create a firm educational foundation that can be used to achieve academic and social success.

Families interested in enrolling their child in CPI should follow the application process outlined on this page. The CPI Office is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. To learn more about the application process, scroll down this page!

Acceptance Criteria

Acceptance into the program is determined on eligibility criteria and identified risk factors, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Risk factors include, but are not limited to-

  • family income

  • level of parent/ legal guardian education

  • housing concerns or homelessness

  • special needs or disability

CPI Application Process

Second: Log onto ParentVUE

LOG ONTO PARENTVUE ACCOUNT

The CPI application process requires families to complete the online registration process using a ParentVue account.
Directions for accessing ParentVUE are available in the dropdown below.

Third: Complete the CPI Registration

COMPLETE CPI REGISTRATION

Once logged onto ParentVUE, families can find the CPI application process by selecting "Online Registration & Verification" (OLR on the mobile app).

NEXT STEPS

Once the CPI Registration and Questionnaire are both completed and submitted, a member of the CPI Administrative team will contact you to schedule a screening appointment.

Selections and Notifications

Selections and notifications for the 2024-2025 CPI Program take place the first week of July 2024.  Notifications will be sent via the email provided on the submitted application.
