Welcome to Chesapeake Public Schools College Readiness Department.  Our department seeks to inspire, engage, and empower all students to reach their career goals through exploration and education. We offer courses, pathways, and programs to help students earn their high school diploma while also earning college credits and industry certifications. This department works with the School Counseling Department to support  and prepare students to be college and career ready.

Happening in October!

AP Exam Registration & Payments

All students who are enrolled in fall or full-year AP courses must complete the following by November 12, 2024-

  1. Join AP Online Classroom

  2. Register for each AP exam

  3. Pay in full for each exam.

PSAT Testing

Students who take the PSAT will be provided access to Big Future to research colleges and careers based on PSAT scores and information.  Students have the option to link PSAT scores to Khan Academy to help prepare for the SAT test.

10th-grade students (and 9th & 11th grade students who registered by Sept. 18, 2024) in all seven high schools will take the PSAT the week of October 14-18.

Notice of Post-Secondary Education and Employment Data

Pursuant to the Code of Virginia section 23.1-204, Chesapeake Public Schools would like all high school students and parents to be aware that postsecondary education and employment data is published annually by the State Council of Higher Education.
