Spring SOL Testing Schedule

Option 2 Parents and Students:

Spring SOL Testing for all OSM Option 2 students will occur on May 17th, May 24th, and June 7th. 

As in previous years, the Virginia Department of Education expects all students to participate in SOL testing this year. SOL tests can only be administered in the school building. 

SOL testing will occur within the normal school day. In order to plan for the option 2 student testing days, parents and guardians are asked to complete this survey: OPTION 2 SOL TESTING SURVEY.  Parents, please complete the survey before Friday, May 14.  Specific information about testing days can be found in this survey.

Option 1 Parents and Students:

All testing will take place during the regular school day.

Help with Math Problems

Students, Would you like to have additional time to reinforce any mathematical concept? Are you stuck on a problem or assignment and just need some extra help outside of your scheduled classes? 

Here is your chance! We will be offering 3 days a week of extra learning opportunities to supplement your current class time.

Previously taught concepts will be reviewed and students will have the opportunity to ask specific questions. Please direct any questions to or .

Fall 2021 – Virtual Virginia Applications Now Available for Middle School Students

Dr. Cotton presented the instructional plan for the 2021-22 school year at the April 19, 2021 School Board Meeting. While the primary mode of instruction for ALL grade levels will be full-time in-person learning, Chesapeake will continue to offer virtual learning opportunities by application only. Families at the elementary and middle school levels who would like to apply for virtual learning will be required to make a full-year commitment to Virtual Virginia. Applications are now available on our website.

Completed applications should be submitted via email to Dr. Penny Schultz at or returned to the school in person.


 

Month of the Military Child

#PurpleUpVA Month of the Military ChildApril is the Month of the Military Child, providing an opportunity to recognize and honor the service of Virginia’s youngest heroes, over 80,00 military-connected children.

Remember to show support for the annual Purple Up Day for Military Kids celebration by wearing purple on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

  • Adult masks are $10; children masks are available upon request
  • Specify white string or black string
  • Proceeds support Ms. Roxanne Smith, the owner of ALFA Clothier, a small business owner in the area

  • The mask will be sold throughout the school year
