The Oscar Smith Counseling Department is pleased to share the scheduling information links below with all rising 9th-grade students and their parents. Please review this information with your student as you complete the course registration for the 2023-2024 school year. If you have questions or need additional help, please contact the 8th-grade counselor at your child’s middle school.

Smith Learning Labs
Smith Learning Labs will begin on Tuesday, December 13th and continue through the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year. Labs run from 8:00-8:45 am and from 4:00-4:45 pm, with transportation provided for the p.m. sessions. Contact Ms Gause, , if you have questions or need additional information. Tigers’ Den Study Hall
The Tigers’ Den Study Hall will resume on October 4th in the Media Center. The study hall is open to all students and will be available: Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm – 4:45pm and Wednesday from 8am – 8:45am. Bus transportation will be provided for the Tuesday and Thursday after school sessions. A pass from your teacher is required for the Wednesday 8am session. Please contact Mr. Edwards () for additional information.
2022-2023 Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Jennifer Frugard is the Oscar F. Smith High School 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year!! Mrs. Frugard is an alumni and has taught here for 21 years. An excellent teacher and always a positive influence on students and faculty, Mrs. Frugard is as devoted to Oscar Smith and the students as anyone can be. Voluntary Student Insurance
Parents are now able to purchase VOLUNTARY Student Accident insurance for your child for the 2022-2023 school year. This insurance covers your child while attending school or any school sponsored event in case of an injury. This voluntary insurance is not just for athletes and participation in sports. Additional information is available on the District Athletic Site.

Synergy Apps Available!!
The ParentVUE and TeacherVUE apps are now available. These apps can be downloaded for free in Apple and Android markets and allow users to track most Synergy features on mobile devices (phone, tablet, etc…).
