Courtyard Crew - Mrs. Suttmiller

A club aimed to develop and improve outdoor green space on Deep Creek Middle School’s campus with environmental, academic, artistic and wellness objectives.

Debate- Mrs. Blackstock

Gain confidence speaking in public, develop excellent communication skills and learn how to think on your feet! This team analyzes issues and creates solutions. They learn organization and clarity, how to persuade and how to listen. Debate also teaches the tricks of the trade: eye contact, effective gestures, students poise, and presence and confidence. The team competes with other teams in the city at debate team meets.

FBLA- Mrs. Surratt

The FBLA Organization (Future Business Leaders of America) prepares students for leadership roles in business and entrepreneurship through hands-on activities, competitions, and stock investing projects. Members gain valuable experience in business fundamentals, financial literacy, and public speaking, setting the stage for future success in the business world.

National Junior Honor Society-Mrs. Green and Mrs. Richardson

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a group that acknowledges middle school students who demonstrate excellence in academics, citizenship, character, leadership, and service. Being a member of NJHS is a prestigious distinction.

Pay It Forward- Mrs. M. Rew

Pay it Forward is a club where the members work on projects that give back to our outside community, and the Deep Creek Middle School community. We work on a volunteer basis. For some projects we may receive money, but we always use the money to complete another project FOR OTHERS which is how we keep Paying it Forward! If you love sharing your time and talents then think about joining PIF this year! We meet after school, 1-2 Tuesdays a MONTH until 4 PM.

Robotics-Mrs. Surratt

The VEX IQ Team is a student-led robotics group that engages in hands-on learning by designing, building, and programming robots to compete in local and national challenges. Students collaborate to solve engineering problems, develop critical thinking, and enhance their teamwork skills, all while fostering a passion for STEM.

Student Council Association - Mrs. Suttmiller

The mission of DCMS' SCA is to enhance and develop leadership skills within the student body with the goal of creating a positive school culture and encouraging community involvement and awareness.

Speech - Mr. Martin and Ms. Sirois

Speech is a public speaking club and CMSL recognized sport that will allow you to develop your speaking skills and express yourself in new ways. Speech members can compete in poetry, prose, or original oratory events and there is a citywide competition in February. Members that develop their skills at the middle school level can earn college scholarships at the high school level!

Step Team - Mrs. Blackstock, Dr. Cheeks, Ms. Ellis, Ms. Lamb, and Mrs. Stukes-Mitchell

Students are encouraged to join the step team to express themselves through rhythm, movement, and teamwork. It's a great opportunity to build confidence, make new friends, and show school spirit.
