Student Discipline Expectations & Consequences

Chesapeake Public Schools has comprehensive policies that promote a substance-free environment. We encourage all families to review updated School Board Regulation 9-22 to understand both the expectations and consequences of these policies. The following links, programs, and resources are offered to families and students within our district to increase awareness and to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students.

Please be aware! Recent updates to Regulation 9-22 addresses changes to disciplinary action and consequences for students who give, sell, distribute, use, be under the influence of, or have in their possession on school property controlled substances. Review our Student Handbook to learn more about these updated consequences.

For the first offense, a student shall be suspended for a minimum of five school days and required to participate in a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program (DAPP) at our Chesapeake Center for Student Success.
