What is CTEAC?

The Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee (CTEAC) is made up of a group of representatives in our local school division, and post-secondary collegiate, business, and workforce partners, including parent and student representatives The purpose of the advisory board is to provide assistance, feedback, and approval of the operations, initiatives, and direction for all of our CTE programs in Chesapeake Public Schools.

What does CTEAC do?

CTEAC meets quarterly. The committee supports educators, students, and businesses in developing, establishing, and evaluating CTE programs to ensure students are well-prepared for the world of work.

Who can join CTEAC?

CTEAC is a group of representatives in our local school division, and post-secondary collegiate, business, and workforce partners, including parent and student representatives for the purpose of providing recommendations, direction, and assistance to CTE. Other persons may be invited to participate at the discretion of the eligible recipient. Ex-officio members should include the CTE administrator.

How can I get involved?

Individuals who wish to serve on CTEAC must apply online through the district Citizen Advisory Council application process. The applications are due annually by May 1.
