Community Partner Goals
The STEAM/CTE coordinator will work with each community partner to discuss and plan the structure of the experiential learning opportunity provided for student interns. We have a goal to build collaborative partnerships with businesses and organizations that can –
Offer interns a professional workspace.
The cooperating organization must consist of a staff of at least three members .
Appoint a supervisor and a mentor to support the internship experience and fulfill program requirements.
Complete final school professional internship reviews (evaluations).
Adhere to internship guidelines and requirements as dictated by the Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act.
Internships
We are looking to create community partnerships to help develop our experiential learning program! The goal of the Experiential Learning Program at Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) is to create a pipeline for high school students in which they will have the opportunity to participate in real-world experiences in the computer science field that will provide them with the skills to be successful in the technology workforce.
