Employee Benefits

Chesapeake Public Schools strives to be a workplace that promotes the health and well-being of all staff and fosters a caring climate and community. We are committed to offering a comprehensive employee benefits program that helps our staff members stay healthy, feel secure, and balance work and life.

Eligible employees have the choice of two different medical plans - both options include preventive care and vision coverage. Our employees also have the option to enroll in a variety of voluntary benefits including flexible spending accounts and supplemental insurance policies.

Staff wellness is important to us!

We offer two full-service pharmacies and health centers. Through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), all employees are eligible for no-cost assistance for emotional or work-life counseling, financial information, and legal support and resources.

2025 Benefits

Chesapeake Public Schools is proud to offer our full-time employees and their family comprehensive benefit options designed to help them grow personally, financially, and professionally.

Open Enrollment

Our district benefits open enrollment occurs annually every October over a two-week period. During the open enrollment, employees may review and change benefits elections on our self-service online enrollment platform. Employees are notified directly and are not required to complete the open enrollment process unless they want to change their elected health plan, dental, or voluntary services.

Wellness Credits

Our incentive program offers employees opportunities to earn wellness credits to reduce health plan premiums on each paycheck. Employees who receive health benefits are encouraged to complete the requirements to earn wellness credits each year. Wellness credits must be earned before the October 31st deadline annually.
