It is my honor to serve as Principal at the Chesapeake Career Center (CCC). As a former Marketing Education Coordinator, I recognize the impact Career and Technical Education programs have on student success in school and in life. I am excited to work with the CCC family to maintain the tradition of excellence while creating new traditions and memories for staff, students and community. It is my goal to continue the school’s legacy of preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s competitive careers.

I am a proud product of Chesapeake Public Schools and graduated with honors from the “original” Oscar F. Smith High School.  After high school, I continued my education receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University, a Master of Education degree, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, and a Doctor of Education in K-12 Educational Leadership from Regent University. Over the course of my professional career, I have served as a Marketing Education Coordinator, AVID Elective and Freshman Seminar teacher and Assistant Principal. This year begins my 33rd year with Chesapeake Public Schools. 

Through my experiences, I have learned that building connections and relationships in the school community are essential for student success, and every student has a different path to that success. I am so excited to be a part of the Chesapeake Career Center family!

I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal for the Chesapeake Career Center (CCC).  As a former Career and Technology Education teacher, I have a passion for working with students who seek high-demand career fields and engage in quality work- based learning experiences.  It is my goal to promote current programs while expanding opportunities for students to gain valuable skills and experiences that will equip them for meaningful, prosperous careers.

I am personally committed to lifelong learning.  I earned my Masters degree in Educational Leadership and my undergraduate degree in Occupational and Technical students from Old Dominion University.  My diverse professional career spans 19 years and includes teaching Small Engines, Power and Transportation Systems, Photography, and Computer Communications Technology.  I also had the opportunity to work as a Computer Resource Specialist and as an Instructional Technology Specialist.  My background in the trades provides me extensive knowledge on how to best support today’s students for tomorrow’s careers.
