The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 has made planning for the 2020-21 school year very difficult for schools and families alike. Preparing for a new school year under normal circumstances is a tough job and involves a lot of hard work and planning. This year, as we continue to navigate uncertain conditions, that task becomes much more difficult.
|To safely bring our students and staff back to school.
To outline safety measures and mitigation strategies for safe, on-campus learning.
To provide families with two options to meet the educational needs of their children.
RETURNING TO LEARNING: FAMILY CHOICE
Our goal is to bring all students back to school, and it is our hope that the COVID-19 situation will improve allowing us to return to normal operations. Until that time, a great deal of uncertainty remains. We believe it is important to consider the needs of all of our students and the unique situations each family faces during this time. A full presentation to the School Board about these options was provided on July 6, 2020. Families can make their choice beginning July 9, 2020, through July 31, 2020, using ParentVUE (see detailed instructions).
CHANGING STUDENT COURSE REQUESTS
Student schedules will be developed using the course requests verified by students and parents in the spring of 2020. Due to the need to align student schedules with new school reentry plan, and to comply with VA state COVID health and safety guidelines, schedule changes made after July 21 will only be considered if necessary to meet graduation requirements. Contact your child’s school counselor for information about schedule changes.
