March is Literacy Month!

March is Literacy Month!

This year’s theme is: “We Honor the Past and Embrace the Future.” Greenbrier Primary’s PTA has graciously provided each family a copy of the book, My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World by Malcolm Mitchell . The books will be distributed to each family on Thursday, March 2nd. (The book will go home with the oldest family member.) A number of activities have also been planned for the students to celebrate this event throughout the month. A calendar outlining these activities is also included.

~~GRP’s Reverse Mainstream Program~~

While Greenbrier Primary does not offer the Chesapeake Preschool Initiative- we offer The Reverse Mainstream Program to a unique population of young students.  The Reverse Mainstream Program brings non-disabled children into preschool classes serving children with developmental delays. It allows a variety of children to learn and play together, builds self-esteem, develops acceptance of others, provides age-appropriate peer models, and includes age-appropriate activities. Space is limited and tuition will be a flat fee based upon the days of attendance.
