GRP hosted Virtual Literacy Night in January. The GRP PTA provided every student a copy of the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. Mrs. Marquitz, the art teacher at GRP, was the host of Literacy Night and students had the opportunity to draw and color using dots. The Youth Conservation Series provides middle and high school students with opportunities to explore research, careers, and topics in marine science through field experiences and conservation action. During this two-day virtual event, participants will be able to meet a variety of local marine scientists to learn about their job duties, what skills and training they need, and how to get started in their field. Chesapeake Public Schools has updated the ParentVue and StudentVue servers. As a result of the update, parents should update the ParentVUE mobile app on their phones. ****New Directions****
Kensa Health offers a thermometer and app that help you to monitor your child’s health. Click here for more information and to apply for the free thermometer. The thermometer and Kensa App do not take place of the required daily Health Form in ParentVUE for Option 1 Students.

Michelle O’Neal is committed to providing all faculty and staff with a strong technology foundation. With a great passion for teaching technology, O’Neal works hard to ensure our faculty and staff understand how to integrate technology with core subject areas to promote critical thinking in students. She received her teaching licensure from Old Dominion University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. After five years as an elementary teacher in Chesapeake Public Schools, she transitioned to our Technology Integration Specialist, where she works with a group of amazing and creative teachers.
Kristy Kline is the Library Media Specialist at GRP. She is a believes in fostering the love of reading at a young age so that students will become life long readers. Mrs. Kline received her teaching license and Bachelor’s degree from Longwood University. She also received her Master’s degree from Old Dominion University in Library Science. Mrs. Kline has been an educator for twelve years. Her favorite part about being a school librarian is seeing her students’ reactions to a story she’s reading to them. She loves helping students find books that are “the one” that turns them on to becoming life long lover of books. Mrs. Kline is a Greenbrier Primary alumni and is proud to come full circle to give back to the Greenbrier community.
