Homecoming Dance

Grassfield high school presents homecoming dance
Grassfield High School Homecoming Dance

Grassfield’s Annual Semi Formal Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday October 6th from 8-11pm in the food court. The dance is open to only Grassfield High School students. Tickets will be sold for $10 during all lunches starting Monday October 1st-5th. Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door.  View the permission slip (pdf).  Class dues have to be up to date of $5 per year.

PSAT’s

psat nmsqt college board national merit scholarship corporationGrassfield High School will administer the PSAT on October 10 during Blocks 1 & 2. The cost of the PSAT is $16.00 (cash or checks payable GFHS). Chesapeake Public Schools received a grant to enable all 10th grade students to be preregistered and prepaid to take the PSAT. Registration for 9th and 11th grade students will be conducted September 26 through October 3 on:

Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays – 8:15 a.m.-8:35 a.m. in front of the Forum
Tuesdays and Thursdays – during all lunches in the Food Court

Eligible freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are encouraged to take the PSAT to receive feedback on collegiate preparation skills, to gain access to College Board study materials, to enter scholarship searches, and to become familiar with the types of questions they will see on the SAT. School counselors also use this data to gauge readiness for AP courses. Students must provide their own calculators and #2 pencils for testing. Students will not be admitted into the PSAT testing rooms after 8:45 a.m.


Open House

back to school open house 2018 2019PTSA Open House is rescheduled to September 24 at 6:30 p.m. After a brief presentation in the auditorium, you are invited to meet your child’s teachers to receive an overview of course expectations.

You are encouraged to log-on to ParentVue prior to Open House to familiarize yourself with your child’s classes and schedule. Please remember to bring your child’s schedule with you. The PTSA will also be accepting annual membership dues of $7.00 per person.


2018/2019 Parking Passes

Parking permits will be sold for $20.00 (CASH ONLY) and will ONLY be sold to seniors and juniors. Sophomores are NOT eligible to obtain a parking permit.

In order to apply for a GFHS parking permit, students will need to complete the following steps:

 

1.  Submit an online application using this link.  Online application

2. Read the Parking Permit Rules AND print and sign the GFHS Parking Permit Agreement. Bring this with you when you report to the GFHS auditorium to obtain the parking pass. View and print this parking pass agreement

3.  Bring a valid Virginia driver’s license to the Grassfield High School on Wednesdays.

** NOTE: Those students who do not have internet access may pick up a copy of the parking permit application from the main office. **
