“Hello, this is an important UPDATE from Chesapeake Public Schools.  At 2:30 p.m. today, Governor Northam ordered that all K-12 schools be closed for a minimum of two weeks in response to the continued threat of COVID-19.  As a result, Chesapeake Public Schools will close for ALL STUDENTS beginning Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27, 2020.

We are working to compile information for our families with specifics on how we will ensure the continuity of services while students are away. In order to prepare for this extended closure, ALL EMPLOYEES will report on Monday, March 16, 2020, or take appropriate leave.

This remains a rapidly developing situation.  We are committed to keeping our school community informed and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

Thank you for your support as we work to ensure a healthy environment for our students and staff.”
