Chi Alpha Mu (Math)

Description: Welcome to Chi Alpha Mu! Chi Alpha Mu, which stands for Creative Adventures in Mathematics, is the National Junior Mathematics Club for middle schools. Founded in 1967, the organization was reactivated by Mu Alpha Theta in 2008 to promote enjoyment and understanding of mathematics by middle school students. Please note, this club provides opportunities for mathematics extension activities and projects, rather than tutoring or homework help.
Cost: No dues, but optional t-shirt.

Description: To learn more about the aspects of theatre. This includes learning stage terminology, working on acting skills, participating in improv activities, creating sets, designing costumes/makeup, and performing in a spring production. The club will promote communication skills, teamwork, socialization, and self-confidence.

Description: The Harry Potter Club was established to celebrate everything in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. It is open to all students (wizards and muggles alike) who love Harry Potter. So, whether you have memorized the books and have watched every movie, or whether you are just getting started – we would love to have you join the fun!

Namastay Relaxed

Description: The purpose of the club is to provide a peaceful and relaxing place for students to unwind during lunch. I will provide a calm and welcoming environment where students can learn relaxation and focus strategies. This may include chair yoga, meditation, breathing strategies and tools to help cope with daily school stress.

Peer Connect

Description: Peer Connect is an after school club that focuses on social skills, friendships, peer relations, and problem solving social situations. Activities include various games, group discussions, and off campus outings.

Relay for Life Club

Description: Relay for Life club raises awareness and support for cancer research and those who have and suffered from the disease. Our goal is to promote events that bring students and staff together with the Relay for Life of South Hampton Roads, including the pink out game and luminary walk.

Meeting Dates: Friday afternoons after events with opportunities to engage at other activities, such as concerts and sporting events.

Running Club

Description: The purpose of this club is to encourage students to stay active! We will be participating in a variety of running-related games and activities as well as preparing the students to compete on the track and field team in the spring.

Vex Robotics Club

Young Builders Club
Sponsors: Mr. Newman & Mr. Pascale
Location: Room 302
Description: Objective: Introduce students to the following: shop safety, use of various types of hand and power tools, finishing techniques, and creating new and interesting projects.
Projects: Create, design, and build various projects using our new 3D carving machine. Designing and building CO2 Dragster, Catapult, Cell Phone Stand, Wooden Bubble Gum machine, etc.
Cost: $15.00 to cover materials for all projects
Dates/Times: 2nd Wednesday of each month, from October through February from 3:35 pm – 5:00 pm
