February is Black History Month

Black History Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the role of African Americans in U.S. history. The 2020 theme, “African Americans and the Vote,” represents the ongoing struggle on the part of black men and black women for the right to vote. Chesapeake Public Schools is proud to honor African American History Month, and we hope you will take the time to celebrate with our schools.
