Thursday, February 20, 2020, will be a full instructional day.  However, due to the threat of severe weather, all after-school and evening activities on Thursday will be cancelled, including the Evening Program for the Chesapeake Center for Student Success and the School Safety Forum originally planned to be held at Western Branch High School.

We are closely monitoring weather conditions and will inform families if any adjustments to Friday’s schedule will be necessary.

We will communicate any additional updates using the Parent Alert System, our Twitter account (@cpschoolsva), our website, the Chesapeake Alert system, Chesapeake-TV Channel 48, and WFOS Radio FM 88.7.  Thank you.

Chesapeake Public Schools is committed to the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. We work closely with national, state, and local safety officials to ensure that our facilities are prepared to handle an emergency. In the event of school closures due to weather or other emergencies, you will find the most updated information on this page.

Should school operating hours change, please refer to our emergency closing codes and delayed operating schedule. Parents and staff will be notified via our Parent Alert System (PAS) and transcripts of those messages will be available here.
