WEATHER UPDATE: September 4, 2019 – 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, September 5, 2019, will be a full instructional day.  However, due to the threat of severe weather, all after-school and evening activities on Thursday will be cancelled, including the Evening Program for the Chesapeake Center for Student Success.

In addition, Chesapeake Public Schools will be CLOSED for students and staff on Friday, September 6, 2019, and all afterschool activities and athletic events on Friday will be cancelled.

To repeat, Thursday will be a full instructional day, but all after-school and evening activities will be cancelled, and Chesapeake Public Schools will be closed, operating on a CODE RED on Friday, September 6, 2019.  Essential personnel will be contacted by their supervisors as needed.

Should school operating hours change, parents and staff will be notified via our Parent Alert System (PAS) and transcripts of those messages will be available here.

Other community members can sign up for Chesapeake Alert through the City of Chesapeake and select the types of emergency notifications you would like to receive, including school closures.
