Dr. Jared Cotton has been appointed to the Governor’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education Commission. The STEM Education Commission has recently been established by Governor Ralph Northam to facilitate his initiative to build a Commonwealth that works better for all Virginians. As part of the group, Dr. Cotton will be working to develop a State STEM plan that will create a unified statewide vision and dynamic set of shared goals to strategically inform how we prepare Virginia’s students for the STEM jobs of the future.
In selecting members to serve on the commission, Governor Northam has included experts from education, industry, and the workforce from around the Commonwealth. Chesapeake Public Schools congratulates Dr. Cotton on his selection by the Governor to serve on this innovative and groundbreaking commission.
