Disability History and Awareness Month

One-fifth of all Americans have disabilities, including almost one million people in Virginia.  During October, we join the Commonwealth of Virginia and the <class=”leave”>Virginia Department of Education to recognize and celebrate Disability History and Awareness Month. The goal is to create greater public awareness and emphasize the importance of full inclusion in schools and communities for individuals with disabilities.

To celebrate, we invite you to join us in a Virtual Walk & Roll event. The official event will occur between Sunday, October 24, 2021, and Sunday, October 31, 2021. You are welcome to run, walk, or roll any distance of 1 mile or greater anytime between these dates to complete the challenge.

Register online today! You will receive a follow-up email with directions to enter your race time and a photo to verify your participation.

Registration is free to all students, employees, and community members. The first 100 people to register and complete their Walk & Roll will receive a certificate and medal.

We also invite you to celebrate with us on social media and post pictures of your Walk & Roll using the hashtag #CPSWalkandRoll.
