Deadline for Chronic Absent Option 1 Students Approaching
As we continue to provide additional on-campus days for select Option 1 students at the secondary level, it is imperative that families who have selected Option 1 ensure that their children are attending school in-person on their designated days. Option 1 students who have a pattern of not attending school and have not resumed in-person attendance by April 16, 2021, will be transferred to Option 2 (virtual learning). This will allow extra space for additional Option 1 students who would benefit from in-person learning for additional days each week. Parents of an Option 1 student who meets the established criteria and would like to request additional days of in-person instruction, should contact their child’s school administration for consideration. Schools will work to accommodate these families if space is available.

Health and Safety Practices
For families with students who are transitioning to on-campus learning for the second semester, please make sure that you are familiar with our health and safety strategies.
We’ve all come to know that monitoring the health of your children and keeping them at home when they aren’t feeling well is a vital part of keeping our schools and community well. We are asking our families to continue this practice, but you will no longer be required to document this action in ParentVUE. However, while we will no longer require the Daily Digital Health Screening, we are asking parents of ALL students to complete a COVID-19 Health Commitment prior to the start of second semester. This commitment will include several items that families must acknowledge in order to send their child to campus. Also new in the platform, parents will be able to report an absence and submit any necessary documentation directly to schools.
COVID-19 Screening Commitment
Parents/Guardians and students must make a thoughtful and continuing commitment to follow the recommended health requirements for controlling COVID-19 in our schools. To help accomplish the School District’s important safety requirements for students attending in-person classes, parents/guardians and students must review, discuss among themselves, and commit to a set of guidelines. This agreement must be digitally signed by a parent or legal guardian and be on file before a student may attend in-person classes. This commitment will be available and completed in ParentVUE.
