Congratulations to Debbie Price. She was selected as G W Carver Intermediate’s 2020-2021 Reading Teacher of the Year. She has been a tremendous asset to our school and students for a number of years. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Price work with all of the students and teachers within the building.
Welcome Military Families!
Carver Intermediate School is a Purple Star School and is committed to serving families connected to our nation’s military. The resources below provide an overview of the educational opportunities and services that may be of interest to military-connected families who will be joining the Chesapeake Public Schools’ family.
For additional support, Mrs. Tiffany Johnson, School Liaison Officer, serves the Chesapeake area and plays a vital role in assisting families as they navigate the complexities of transition and deployment.

In an effort to expedite our dismissal procedures, we will establish a list of students who will be permanently placed on the Parent Pickup list for afternoon dismissal. If a student is going to be picked up daily from school, parent(s)/ guardian(s) will complete the Parent Pickup Form, and the student will be placed on a list. Students listed will be
assigned a number and will receive two number cards to be placed in the parent(s)/guardian(s) vehicle or the vehicle of the person that is authorized to pick up the student. The student will be listed as a daily pick up student unless a parent/guardian sends in a note advising the school of other afternoon transportation arrangements.
Families who selected option 1, the On-Campus Continuum, should review all of the information outlined in the slide deck below. This information includes checklists families should complete now and other important health and safety protocols families should incorporate into their daily school routine.
