Next Steps: Look for an email notification in January when your 2021 Benefits Confirmation Statement is ready.  Review your Benefits Summary and your January 15, 2021 paycheck for accuracy.  If anything differs from the choices you made during Open Enrollment notify Employee Benefits immediately.

Medical Benefits
Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) offers eligible employees a choice of medical insurance plans administered by Anthem.  Medical plans cover physician visits, therapeutic services, prescription drugs, vision, and more.

 

Dental Benefits
The CPS dental plan is administered by Anthem and there is no premium for an Employee Only plan.  It covers preventive care like regular cleanings, exams and X-rays, and also procedures like fillings and crowns.

 

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Flexible Benefit Administrators administers three types of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for CPS.  These accounts can save money by paying for the eligible health and dependent care with pretax dollars.

 

Identity Protection
Legal Resources Identity Protection plan continuously monitors your records for potential threats to your identity and offers assistance if you become a victim of identity theft.

 

Legal Resources
The Legal Plan provides 100% coverage on a broad range of legal services.  Whether your legal matter is expected or unexpected, you’ll have immediate and ongoing access to our network of highly-rated   law firms.

 

Life Insurance
All eligible employees receive basic life benefits through the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).   You may elect to increase your life insurance coverage through VRS or by applying for optional coverage with Anthem.
