Adult Basic Education (ABE)
This program provides quality instruction of basic educational skills for adults who are performing below the 9th grade level in reading, writing, mathematics and other basic skills. The goal of the ABE program is to prepare adults with the academic skills necessary to ultimately take the GED exam.

How to Enroll:
ABE classes require an annual $20.00 non refundable registration fee for adults who qualify. The classes operate on an open-enrollment basis. Interested adults can register and participate in an ABE class at any time during the school year.

All students begin the program by taking the Locator Assessment. This test is the initial assessment used to identify the appropriate pre-test level to be given when the student comes for the Assessment Center pre-testing. A TABE pre-test is scheduled immediately following the Locator Assessment. Students are asked to return the following week to the Assessment Center to take their TABE pre-test. When the TABE pre-test is completed, the counselor will discuss the student’s test scores with him/her and make the appropriate class assignment during orientation.
