Course Offerings and Academic Calendar

We offer a wide variety of day and evening courses every fall and spring semester at locations throughout the City of Chesapeake. Residents and non-residents who are at least 18 years of age are invited to register and participate in Adult Education courses (non-resident fees may apply).

Registration window for Spring 2025 courses opens Monday, December 16, 2024, and closes Monday, January 20, 2025.

Register for a Course

We offer three convenient options for course registration.

Please note the following:

  • Registration for fall courses opens in early August of each year.

  • Registration for spring courses opens in early January of each year.

  • ABE/GED Orientation registration is open throughout the year.

Fees, Payments, and Reimbursements

Registration fees must be received no later than two weeks prior to the first class meeting. Fees for each course are outlined in the course catalog. Payment can be made in-person or by mail with a personal check or money order. Payment can also be made online using the Online School Payments site.

School Closings and Delays

Adult Education courses will follow Chesapeake Public Schools emergency protocols. School closures due to weather or other emergencies, or changes to normal school operating hours will be posted to cpschools.com and shared with local news outlets. In addition, emergency information will be shared via push-notifications on the Chesapeake Public Schools app.
