May 3-7, 2021, is Teacher Appreciation Week

“I think a hero is really any person intent on making this a better place for all people.” – Maya Angelou.

The past thirteen months have taught us that heroes walk among us every day. Each of our 47 schools and centers are filled with heroes. Whether their efforts are on-campus or on virtual platforms, our district is filled with educators who work to make their schools and communities a better place.

2021 Teacher Appreciation Week

May 3-7, 2021, is teacher appreciation week. We admire the ways teachers went above and beyond during a year that was riddled with change and uncertainty and think they deserve to be celebrated. We encourage you to participate in the many celebrations our schools have planned. At the district level, we hope to support our schools’ efforts by providing ways that our families can recognize their teachers during this national week of appreciation –

A Video Ask campaign was created for Students to express gratitude for their teacher. The videos submitted by students may be shared on our district social media platforms and will be sent directly to the highlighted teacher and their principal. The link to submit a recording was promoted on Schoology for all students beginning Friday, April 30, 2021, through Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

Parents and Guardians can express gratitude for their student’s teacher with our special online appreciation form. The teacher will receive the personal message in their email inbox formatted to our theme ‘Our Teachers are Superheroes’. The appreciation form is now accepting messages and will be available through Friday, May 7, 2021.
